So you’ve got yourself a brand new STI_GL300 GPS tracker. Before you could start using it you need to activate it. Following is a brief guide to activating and setting up your GL300 tracker for use.

Activation of SpyTec STI_ GL300 is a simple process and can be done in 5 easy steps. The quick start guide that comes with the tracker does not include much detail regarding placement and user account interface. Here is a step by step guide to setting up your GL300 in no time.

STEP 1: Locating the IMEI number.

The IMEI number of the SIM card is printed on the back of the SpyTec GL300 box as well as the back of the device. You will be needing at the time of account registration.

STEP 2: Charging the GPS tracker.

Your GL300 tracker may have some battery juice when its taken fresh out of the box. Use the wall charger and USB cable provided to charge the device. For the first time you must charge the tracker for a period of 8 hours or until the red LED goes solid. Once the tracker has been fully charged check if the green LED (cellular signal) is blinking once every 3 seconds. Make sure you have T-Mobile reception in the area you are going to use the device. If it blinks faster than once every 3 seconds it means there is some problem with your cellular signal reception. In this you should contact the customer support to report the issue.

STEP 3: Account Registration

Now you need to register your GPS tracking device on SpyTec website. Head over to GPS Account Activation page to get the registration form. Here you will be required to submit your profile, billing, credit card and subscription plan information. Once you are done with the above step, the activation will take around 24 hours before you could start using the GPS tracker. You should receive an email confirming that the account has been registered including the username and password for logging in on the SpyTecGPS portal.

STEP 4: Placing the tracker

SpyTec STI GL300 GPS tracker should ideally be placed in an area that is open to sky so that it has a clear line of sight with the GPS satellites. It can be placed near a window or a surface that has good access to open sky. Do not place the tracker inside your car like in the glove box or somewhere where its signal reception will get obstructed.

STEP 5: Accessing your SpyTec account interface

Once you have completed all of the above steps, head over to the SpyTec gps tracking website at spytecgps.io. It will show a login page where you can enter the username and password credentials to access your account interface where you can view the real time location of your GL300 tracker and view/change its settings.
